Airport Hotels at Heathrow Airport

The hotels listed above are all accessed from Heathrow’s landside area. If you’re arriving on an international flight, you’ll need to clear passport control and collect your luggage before checking in.

Transfer information is based on Heathrow Airport guidance and hotel location data.

Hotel + Parking Packages

If you are driving to the airport, booking a combined accommodation and parking package is usually far more economical than paying for standalone vehicle storage.

Official deals booked directly through the airport platform allow you to couple your overnight hotel stay near the perimeter with one of two distinct schemes:

Hotel + Park & Ride: You check into your selected partner hotel the night before your flight. On the day of your departure, you drive your vehicle over to the official Heathrow Park & Ride lot (formerly Long Stay). Once your car is parked, you get onto a free airport shuttle bus that drops you off right at the terminal doors.

Hotel + Meet & Greet: After spending the night at the hotel, you drive directly to the dedicated Meet & Greet reception area located inside your departure terminal’s Terminal Parking structure (formerly Short Stay).

Getting to the Terminal From Your Hotel

The quickest way to reach your terminal depends on where your Heathrow airport hotel is located.

Terminal-Connected Hotels

Aerotel (T3), Hilton (T4), and Sofitel (T5) are located beside the terminals, allowing you to bypass road traffic entirely.

  • Terminal Walkways: You can walk from the hotel lobby straight to the departure hall via covered pedestrian bridges or underground tunnels. Walking transit times take between 5 and 10 minutes.
  • Free Inter-Terminal Rail: If your hotel is attached to a different terminal than the one you are flying out of, you can transfer between buildings for free. Walk down to the terminal’s rail station and board the Heathrow Express or the Elizabeth Line. These inter-terminal rail hops are completely free of charge.

Hotels Outside the Airport

Many Heathrow airport hotels sit just outside the airport perimeter, particularly along Bath Road and nearby business parks. Although they’re only a short drive from the terminals, walking isn’t practical because the surrounding roads aren’t designed for pedestrians.

The Heathrow Hotel Hoppa is the easiest way to reach the terminal. The shuttle network serves many nearby hotels and runs regular routes to Terminals 2, 3, 4, and 5 throughout the day. Not every hotel uses the service, so you should check your hotel’s transfer options before you book.

If your hotel doesn’t operate a Hoppa service, you can use a taxi or ride-sharing app. Most nearby hotels are around 8 to 12 minutes from the terminals, although journey times can increase during peak traffic periods.

Is There an Airside Hotel at Heathrow?

Heathrow has one airside accommodation option. No1 Bedrooms, located inside the No1 Lounge after security in Terminal 3, offers private rooms for eligible connecting passengers between 6:00 am and 10:30 pm.

If you’re starting your journey at Heathrow or need an overnight stay, you’ll need to book one of the nearby landside hotels instead.

FAQ

Which Heathrow airport hotel is closest to my terminal?

The closest hotel depends on the terminal you’re flying from. Aerotel sits in Terminal 3 Arrivals, Hilton London Heathrow connects directly to Terminal 4, and Sofitel London Heathrow links to Terminal 5 via a covered walkway. If you’re flying from Terminal 2, look for hotels with direct pedestrian access to the central terminal area.

How do I get from my hotel to the terminal?

Several Heathrow airport hotels connect directly to the terminals through covered walkways, allowing you to walk to departures in around five to ten minutes.
Hotels farther from the airport usually rely on the Heathrow Hotel Hoppa, which serves many nearby properties across Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5.
If your hotel doesn’t offer a shuttle, a taxi or ride-sharing service is usually the quickest alternative.

Can I book a hotel and parking package at Heathrow?

Yes. Many Heathrow airport hotels offer overnight stays combined with parking packages. Depending on the hotel, you’ll either leave your vehicle in the hotel’s car park for the duration of your trip, or it will be transferred to a secure off-site facility.

Does Heathrow have sleeping pods?

No, you won’t find traditional sleeping pods here. If you are just connecting through Terminal 3, you can reserve a private day room at No1 Bedrooms.

Can I book a Heathrow airport hotel after I arrive?

Yes, but availability depends on how busy the airport is. Hotels can fill up quickly during peak travel periods or when flights are delayed or cancelled, so booking in advance usually gives you more choice and better prices.

Do Heathrow airport hotels offer early check-in or late check-out?

Some do, but policies vary from one hotel to another. If you expect to arrive well before check-in or need to keep your room after the standard check-out time, contact the hotel before your stay. Many properties can accommodate these requests when availability allows, although additional charges may apply.
